Common questions

Do I need an account?: No. There's no sign-up. Jambo uses the iCloud account on your iPhone or iPad, so make sure you're signed in to iCloud in the Settings app.
How do I add a friend?: Tap the Invite a Friend button (the person with a plus) at the top of Jambo, then Share Invite Link, and send the link by Messages, WhatsApp or any app. When your friend taps it, you're connected.
My friend doesn't have Jambo yet.: The link takes them to the App Store. Once they've installed Jambo and opened it, they may need to tap your link again.
Can I send one link to several friends?: No. Each link connects you with one friend: the first person to open it. Create a new invite for each friend. If someone opens a link that's already been used, Jambo lets them know and asks them to get a new one.
How do streaks work?: When a friend sends you a Jambo, you have 24 hours to send one back. Each time you both reply in time, your streak grows by a day. It's a rolling 24 hours, so time zones don't matter. An hourglass appears when time is running out.
What are the stars?: Stars are for days you Jambo back and forth more than once. Each round of Jambos you both send within 24 hours earns a star, up to three.
Our streak broke. Can we get it back?: Yes. Tap your friend, then tap Restore. It's an optional $0.99 purchase (or your local equivalent) that brings the streak back for both of you, and either of you can buy it.
Can I rename a friend?: Yes. Tap your friend, then Rename. The new name is only shown on your device; your friend doesn't see it.
How do I remove a friend?: Tap your friend, then Remove Friend. You'll stop seeing each other's Jambos, and your streak together ends.
Can I send a Jambo without opening the app?: Yes. Add a Jambo widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen, add Jambo to Control Center or the Action button, or ask Siri: “Jambo Sam” or “Send a Jambo to Sam.”
I'm not getting notifications.: Check that notifications are on in Jambo's Settings and allowed for Jambo in the Settings app, and that you're signed in to iCloud. Jambos can take a few minutes to arrive, especially in Low Power Mode.
Does Jambo track me or show ads?: No. Jambo has no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking. Your friendships are shared only between you and each friend, and we can't see them.
Which devices are supported?: iPhone or iPad with iOS 26 or later. You and your friend each need a device signed in to iCloud.
What does Jambo mean?: Jambo is Swahili for hello.
